...the newest historic park in Fremont, California. The gardens are located in Mission San Jose, now a district of Fremont.
The oldest residents of the Mission San Jose District are the beautiful trees and ornamental horticulture within the Gardens at Palmdale. These trees are dear old friends and are co-dwellers on our land. The Monterey Cypress, native to the Monterey Peninsula, was probably planted by the Franciscan Missionaries and is estimated at over 200 years old. Trees from many other countries are planted here along with trees native to this location.
